ATEP is an approximate 62-acre educational development focusing on advanced technology, career technical, and workforce development training programs to support high demand industries through Public Private Partnerships that benefit education, business, industry, and the region. The Advanced Technology & Education Park ("ATEP") is located within the 1,606-acre Tustin Legacy Community in the heart of Orange County. The South Orange County Community College District's two colleges, Irvine Valley College and Saddleback College, are expanding academic programs and collaborative partnerships to strengthen workforce training in the region.

Current developments include Irvine Valley College which opened the IDEA building, focused on advanced manufacturing, alternative energy, pre-engineering, biotech and digital media arts, in March of 2018. With Saddleback College's planned 30,000 SF building, which will be devoted to education in allied health services, there will be approximately 55.8-acres available for educational and commercial users for long-term ground leases.
